The NeurologistsTodd Dylan Levine, M.D.Dr. Levine is a graduate of Duke University Medical School. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Jewish Hospital In St Louis. His neurology residency was at Barnes Hospital In St Louis. He then completed a two year fellowship in neuromuscular disease at Washington University in St Louis. He has dual board certification in Neurology as well as Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Levine has been a member of Phoenix Neurological Associates since January of 1999. Since moving to Phoenix he has developed a subspecialty practice in neuromuscular diseases. He is the founder and director of the Samaritan ALS clinic. He is Co-Director of the neurophysiology department at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center. He is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Arizona in Neurology. He also conducts extensive research in disease of the nerve and muscle and continues to publish his findings in numerous peer reviewed journals. Dr. Levine's Biographical Information David Scott Saperstein, M.D.Prior to coming to Phoenix, Dr. Saperstein was the Chief of the Neuromuscular Disease service at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was active in the University’s ALSA certified clinic where he coordinated several ALS research studies. Dr. Saperstein was recently elected chairman of the North American ALS Research Group’s Education Committee. Dr. Saperstein received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Boston University. Following that, he completed his medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine. He performed a Neurology residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, followed by a Neuromuscular Disease/Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Saperstein is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (with added qualifications in Clinical Neurophysiology) and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Saperstein has clinical and research interests in numerous aspects of neuromuscular disorders. He has participated in multicenter research studies of treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, immune-mediated neuropathies, and muscular dystrophy. Dr. Saperstein has authored or co-authored over 40 journal articles, book chapters and abstracts regarding various aspects of nerve and muscle disease. Dr. Saperstein's Biographical Information Lori Hendin Travis, M.D.Dr. Travis is a graduate of the University of Arizona Medical School. She completed her neurology residency at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where she was elected as Chief Resident. Dr. Travis is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is currently on faculty at the University of Arizona as a Clinical Assistant Professor. She has participated in a number of clinical trials as a co-investigator. She has also been published in several peer reviewed journals on topics such as stroke and headache. Dr. Travis' Biographical Information Barry A. Hendin, M.D.Dr. Hendin is a graduate of the Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his neurology residency at Barnes Hospital in St Louis. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology where he has been honored as a fellow. He has been the chief of the Neurology Service at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital from 1979 to the present. Dr. Hendin is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Banner Health Services. He is also a Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of Arizona. Dr. Hendin lectures widely around the country on a number of subjects including multiple sclerosis, stroke, and headache. He has also been extensively involved in clinical research for over 20 years. Dr. Hendin has numerous publications in many areas of neurology. He has been elected as Teacher of the Year as well being honored as one of Phoenix’s Top Docs. Dr. Hendin's Biographical Information Harry S. Tamm, M.D.Dr. Tamm graduated from the University of Missouri Medical School and he completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Jewish Hospital In St Louis. Dr. Tamm also completed his Neurology residency from Washington University in St Louis. He is Board certified by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and has been elected as a fellow. He initially practiced in Maine and has been with Phoenix Neurological Associates since 1981. He is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of Arizona and currently serves as Chief of Staff at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Tamm has served as co-director of the Neurololgy service at Good Samaritan as well as co-director of the electrophysiology lab. He has authored a chapter on neurologic complications of obstetrics and published several other peerireviewed articles. Dr. Tamm also participates in numerous research studies both in the offices of Phoenix neurological and at Good Samaritan. |
